What is Ooma?

Unfortunately, Ooma makes this unclear so I can’t tell you who pays for it.

Additionally, only one local call can be routed through a box at a time.  This means that if there are multiple calls made to a box at the same time, only one will go through the internet while the rest are transfered over the old analog lines resulting in a charge. To make it more confusing, the charge you incur depends on that person’s specific phone service plan, so you never know exactly how much the bill will be.

Lastly, the system really only works as intended if there are thousands of Ooma boxes spread out through each city in the US.
